As a growing business, we are constantly analysing all that we do and working out what works and what doesn't. For us, we think we have found the right formula for happy employees and happy customers.
Our coding process
So what is our process then? Skipping ahead to after the initial meeting, we gather our information, formulate our 'assumptions' and give you the estimated price. We don't use specifications and here's why. Once you are happy with the assumptions and initial pricing we book you in and get to work. Now, this is arguably the most important part, we set up regular meetings where you can come in and get a live demonstration of our progress. If you have another idea and want to include a few extra features you can add them as we go along, just like if you want to take x, y and z out because you have realised you won't need them. It's much easier to do this as we are going through.
To answer the common question-price?
So how much will it actually cost? We won't know the definitive price throughout the project, can we trust it?
For us, everything we do is to improve the process from start to finish so we program this way in order to provide the best piece of software at the end. The price may alter slightly from the original estimate price however, we try our best to stay at the original price and if we are 'at risk' of going over price then we will have a meeting to explain and decide on next steps. We will not leave you with half a job done but if you wish to add extra features that will bring the price up you will be informed before any decisions are made. On the other hand, we have also had it where the price decreases because features have been taken out or our amazing team of developers has finished the project sooner than anticipated. There will never be any horrible shock, we have regular meetings to ensure we are all on the same page throughout.
So now we have explained the process and answered the main question, what are the benefits? Well, that's simple, you get better software that does exactly what you want. We understand that things change, sometimes, one feature might not be necessary if we utilise another feature in a different way, this could not only save you money but will improve the standard of your software. Programming this way will leave you 100% happy with the end result as you have your say from the get-go.
At the end of the day, you will find that you have everything you want for your software, you end up with what you want, rather than something you thought you wanted x amount of weeks ago. We are also proud of the way we code meaning if your circumstances changed we could pick the project up later on down the line.
If you are not sure whether or not you would benefit from custom software you can read this blog which covers the main issues customers come to us with. Alternatively, you could give us a call and speak to one of our team.
